We have ben exploring our story this week and have been creating an exciting story beginning with a cliff-hanger ending! We have started to plan our shared write and the children have been coming up with amazing ideas that we are now ready to develop.

We have been working as Scientists this week and have been analysing and categorising different types of rocks. We discovered that there are many types such as Quartz, Slate and Pyrite. We made careful observations and recorded the various similarities and differences.

We even inferred the reasons why Pyrite is referred to as Fool’s Gold….

We have well and truly got into our stride this week. We have been focussing on Collaborative Learning Behaviour this week… We have been exploring what it is to be a good learner and what makes us all part of an effective team.

3V have been investigating Place Value and looking at the many ways you can represent a single number… especially when that number has 3 digits!

We also made use of the last of the summer weather to get outside and explore natural creations in our RE session.

We have had a really successful return to school. 3V have settled in brilliantly and have helped Mr Verney find his way around a new school.

We have been doing lots of work on our class charter and have set out our expectations and joint rules. It is a big jump going from Year 2 to Year 3 and I have been really impressed with how resilient 3V have been.!

One particular thing that we enjoyed this week was tasting the delicious apples from our trees!
